Capcom 2016 Financial Report: "Resident Evil 7" target 4 million

Capcom announced quarterly financial results for the first nine months of 2016 fiscal year. As of December 31 last year, net sales were 53.507 million yen, a decrease of 6.2% from the same period last year, mainly due to the decline in sales of Monster Hunter X. As a result, the company also announced data such as operating income, as shown in the table below, which is lower than the same period of last year.

In addition, Capcom also mentioned that in the field of digital content, the sales of "Zombie Besieged City 4" released in December last year were steady, while the sales of "Monsters of Prey" were poor and were below expectations.

From the perspective of the sales of each game in the table below, even if the “robust” “Zombie Siege 4′′ globally sold only 700,000, it seems that it may not reach Capcom’s original forecast of sales of over 200 million over 3 months ago. "Crisis" 4, 5, and 6 sold a total of 2 million units in this platform. "Crazy Hunt X" has accumulated sales of 9 million units worldwide, showing that overseas sales are still good.

Due to the launch of "Biochemical 7" and "Dangerous Hunting XX", it looks like Capcom has great expectations for the final quarter of the fiscal year. They expect that the sales volume of "Biochemical 7" will reach 4 million at the end of this financial year. The sale of Biochemical 7 was 2.5 million. ?

As for the "Street Fighter 5" released in February last year, there were 1.4 million shipments for the first shipment in January, and from the end of March to the end of the year, there were only 100,000 follow-up sales. So far, the total sales volume of 1.5 million is very bleak compared to "Street Fighter 4". The latter sold 3.4 million on the PS3/Xbox 360 platform, and the total sales of various derivative works on all platforms reached 8.6 million.
