Samsung ARTIK module series adopts SILICON LABS optimal grade multi-protocol wireless GECKO technology

October 25, 2016 - Silicon Labs (aka "Technology") announced today that it has partnered with Samsung Electronics to provide wireless modules for edge-node battery-powered devices for the Internet of Things (IoT). The new SAMSUNG ARTIKTM 0 module series is based on Silicon Labs' low-power, multi-protocol wireless Gecko System-on-Chip (SoC) with ARM® Cortex®-M4 processor. The SAMSUNG ARTIKTM020 module includes Silicon Labs' Bluetooth® low-power software stack, and the SAMSUNG ARTIKTM030 module uses Silicon Labs' ZigBee® and Thread® mesh network stacks. These small form factor modules (13 mm x 15 mm) are ideal for space-constrained applications, integrating all the necessary components, including the antenna, to simplify the RF design process.

The SAMSUNG ARTIK platform is a fully integrated chip-to-cloud solution that helps IoT developers accelerate their product development process, reduce time to market, and lower the total cost of ownership of their IoT products. In addition, the SAMSUNG ARTIK platform provides world-class security from device to center to cloud and data management.
