LED lighting demonstration project construction - night lighting design of Chongqing Science and Technology Service Building

Abstract: This paper briefly introduces the first LED city night lighting demonstration project in Chongqing. The design makes full use of LED small size, fast response, rich colors, etc., through a set of independently developed LED based on RS-485 bus technology. The use of the intelligent control system, through the arrangement of LEDs on the facade of the building, forms a large-scale night scene that can change with the season and time, realizing the free editing and precise control of the large-scale night scene. The stability of the system is greatly improved and the life of the LED light source is prolonged. In the project, new LED lighting products have also been developed, which has effectively promoted the development of the local LED industry.

Compared with traditional light sources, LED light sources have a series of unique advantages such as energy saving, long life, environmental protection, safety, fast response, high reliability, low maintenance, small size and light weight. In 2004 and 2005, they invested 80 million yuan in research funding for LED research [1] .
As the fourth municipality directly under the central government of China, Chongqing has also established “Chongqing LED Lighting R&D and Industrialization Alliance” and “Chongqing LED Lighting Productivity Promotion Center”, and held the “2004 First Chongqing LED Lighting Forum” and “2005”. A series of activities such as the first Chongqing University LED Innovation Design Competition. In the future, the government will invest millions of dollars each year in LED technology research and development.
The façade lighting of Chongqing Science and Technology Service Building introduced in this paper is the first LED lighting demonstration project in Chongqing. The purpose of this project is to promote the use of LED in urban night lighting projects to achieve energy saving and environmental protection. At the same time, encourage The development of new LED lighting technology and control systems has formed independent intellectual property rights.
Complex control systems were used in the project to provide more flexibility and variability than conventional lighting methods. The success of this project can effectively promote the progress and industrialization of semiconductor lighting technology in our city.
I. Architectural overview
Location: Chongqing Science and Technology Service Building is located near the intersection of Xinhui Road and Jiangbei Airport Road in Jiangbei District, Chongqing. It is an 18-storey high-rise office building with a simple, bright and modern architectural style. The facade is dominated by glass walls. The illuminator has good carrier conditions.
Peripheral conditions: The buildings around the building are much lower and shorter, only a small number of high-rise buildings, and the distance is far, the building has a wide view. Due to its location in the new development zone, the nighttime ambient temperature around the building is very low, making it ideal for LED lighting. Because it is the only high-rise building in the plot, it is outstanding in all directions. From the results of the line of sight analysis, all the façades should be illuminated, of which the north and south façades are more important.
2. Design requirements [2]
1. Using high-tech lighting technology based on LED, it shows the unique era, innovation and high-tech of Chongqing Science and Technology Service Building, and reflects the regional cultural characteristics; highlights the important position of the science and technology building in this area. Become a new important landmark building;
2. Using LED color change and fast response, LEDs are used to combine various patterns on the building facade to enhance the fun of lighting and the layering of space; at the same time, try to use complex screen control system to make The night view of the building is more abundant;
3. The design plan fully considers energy conservation, environmental protection and engineering costs;
4. Develop LED lamps and intelligent control products with independent intellectual property rights through the project to help local enterprises develop LED industry.
Third, the lighting scheme design
As a demonstration project for LED lighting in Chongqing, the design has experienced a long design cycle. After repeated discussions and constant revisions, the program was finalized. Due to some technical issues involved in the implementation, the initial design and implementation schemes were somewhat different. Below, we will give a brief introduction to the program. To save space, we only introduce the most important north facade.
The north facade lighting design is roughly divided into five parts: the hidden frame glass curtain wall lighting in the center of the facade, the framed glass curtain wall lighting in the building, the top glass dome lighting, the top sign lighting, and the building floor lighting (see Figure 1).
