Development Status and Development Trend of Cast Iron Industry at Home and Abroad

Domestic development status and development trend: Large amounts of cast iron are widely used and there are nearly 20,000 enterprises. In 2014, the output of cast iron parts in China was 33.8 million tons (including 20.8 million tons of gray cast iron, 12.4 million tons of ductile iron, and 600,000 tons of malleable cast iron). It accounted for 73.2% of the total output of 46.2 million tons of castings in the year; the proportion of nodular cast iron in castings increased from 25% in 2004 to 26.8% in 2014, and the proportion of nodular cast iron and gray cast iron increased from 0.497 to 0.596. China's cast iron industry has the ability to produce high-end cast iron parts in raw and auxiliary materials, process equipment, production technology, inspection and control (QL-5800 spark direct reading spectrometer) and other aspects.

(1) Quality control and testing (especially on-line inspection: QL-TS-8 furnace hot metal analyzer) with a steady increase of water;

(2) The supply and quality of raw and auxiliary materials have been greatly improved;

(3) Computer CAD, CAM, CAE and furnace thermal analysis and other technical means are increasingly valued and applications are gradually increasing;

(4) The scale, equipment and technology of some key enterprises have reached the world-class level, and have achieved significant advantages in international competition;

(5) The performance of some products has reached the international advanced level;

(6) High-speed railway locomotive axle box, gearbox, motor shell and other parts, wind turbine hub, base and numerical control machine tools and other key components have been mass production and application;

(7) The annual output of more than 10,000 tons of cast iron, more advanced production equipment, and more stable quality has reached more than 100 factories. Most of them use electric furnaces or cupola-electric furnace double smelting. They are equipped with an in-furnace nitrogen-oxygen oxygen analyzer and vacuum. Direct reading spectrometer and scanning electron microscope and other advanced equipment and detection methods;

(8) A large number of companies have used the international level of melting, modeling and testing equipment (QL-5800 spark direct reading spectrometer).

Development status and development trend in foreign countries: Casting production in industrialized countries has recovered from the financial crisis. The foundry's tasks are full, the scale of production and specialization is high, and the overall casting quality and technical and economic benefits are good. Mainly in:

(1) CAD/CAE/CAM is widely used, and the pre-optimized design of products and processes through product numerical simulation and the establishment of a production base database are emphasized, and product R&D design is digitized, and the level of casting automation is generally high;

(2) In the aspect of modeling and core making, robots are used, and the process of assembling the cores is monitored with a vision system. The castings have high dimensional accuracy and a small processing allowance.

(3) In terms of molten iron smelting, in addition to the use of spectroscopic analysis, emphasis is placed on the use of thermal analysis techniques to accurately control the quality of molten iron before the furnace, including chemical components such as carbon content, sulfur content, etc., while measuring the N of molten iron. H, O content, iron quality is stable, chemical composition fluctuations are small;

(4) Using electric furnace smelting, ball feeding method and inoculation treatment process, the entire melting, spheroidizing and inoculation treatment process is consistent, with high degree of digitization and no magnesium dust;

(5) Through micro-alloying and special molten iron processing technology, it can stably control the structure and performance of the castings, with good internal quality and good precision retention;

(6) Low emissions and environmental protection have reached international advanced standards.
