UV-LED pulls out high gross profit "Xintiandi"

According to the statistics of the High-tech Research Institute LED Research Institute (GGII), the price reduction of domestic LED packaged devices reached 30%-50% in 2015, and the price drop of most chip companies in the LED chip industry also reached 20%.

Finding high-margin segmentation market has become the only way for LED companies. Ultraviolet LEDs have thus leapt into the eyes of many LED companies, and they have been laid out.

Including Seoul Semiconductor, Crystal Power, RayVio, Nikkiso and domestic Hongli Optoelectronics, Qingdao Jiesheng and other companies have already begun to show their edge in the field of UV LED.

UV LED generally refers to invisible light with a single wavelength below 400 nm, also known as ultraviolet LED. It has the advantages of good directional performance, low voltage, environmental protection, wavelength measurement, long life, light and flexible, fast switching, shock and moisture resistance.

Depending on the wavelength of the luminescence, the field of UV LED applications varies. UV-A field (315~400nm) is mainly used in industrial curing equipment, money detectors, etc.; UV-B field (280~315nm) is mainly used in therapeutic/analytical instruments, vitamin D synthesis, etc. in medical/biological fields. The UV-C field (280~200nm) is mainly used in environmental fields such as sterilization/purification/clean water.

With the continuous breakthrough of key technologies of deep ultraviolet LED (light emission wavelength shorter than 300nm), UV light source is applied to many fields such as daily life, production research, homeland security, biomedical, biological detection, all-weather non-line-of-sight confidential communication.
