Intel Haswell processor to be listed next year

Intel Haswell processor to be listed next year Intel CEO Paul Otellini recently said in a conference call that notebook and desktop products based on the next-generation Haswell Core processor will be available in the first half of next year. New products will replace the Ivy Bridge products released in the first half of this year.

"Haswell's performance will be twice that of Ivy Bridge. At the same time, the new processors will have lower energy consumption and can even double Ultrabook's battery life." Currently, Ivy Bridge has a minimum voltage of 17 watts, but the future Haswell chips can be as low as 10 watts.

In the future, the 10 watt Haswell processor will be used in tablet PCs and deformed ultrabooks. At the same time, Intel will also introduce 15-watt and 17-watt products for ultrabooks and traditional notebooks.

Haswell's image processor will have a major upgrade, fully supporting 4K graphics display, that is, resolution up to 4096 × 3072 images. At the same time, the Haswell platform will also support wireless charging, NFC, voice interaction and better security features.

Otellini said, “The computing market is undergoing a transition period and there are opportunities for breakthroughs in R&D and creativity. New usage methods such as removable touch screens and voice recognition provide opportunities for the development of notebooks. Intel hopes to take advantage of these opportunities.”
