What is brightness?

How to improve screen brightness

The surface of the display screen is like a glass, which enhances the reflection of light, and also improves the color contrast and saturation of the screen.

Screen brightness and visual health

It should be noted that brighter products are not necessarily good products, and the TV screen is too bright and often feels uncomfortable. The researchers pointed out that when the brightness of the display reaches 100cd & m2, it will cause visual fatigue. The use of "wiping technology" makes the display screen easy to "stab" the eyes, and it can easily cause eye fatigue, and even lead to health problems such as decreased vision and headache.

Highlight is not the only pursuit

Excessive brightness is easy to cause visual fatigue, and it also reduces the contrast between pure black and pure white, affecting the performance of color scale and gray scale. The survey shows that the brightness of the traditional CRT TV is about 300-600 cd/m2, and it has been proved that such brightness is sufficient for the visual appreciation on the screen of 20-35 inches.

Pick the right brightness product

At present, the brightness of most TVs on the market is around 450-600 cd/m2, and individual ones reach 800 cd/m2, 1000 cd/m2 or even higher, which can meet the needs of most consumers. Choosing the right brightness has a lot to do with the distance to watch TV. The TV viewing distance of the big screen is generally large, which is suitable for selecting the model with higher brightness, while the TV for small screen should choose the product with not too high brightness. Generally, the ideal brightness selection can roughly refer to this standard, that is, not higher than the square of the screen height of 2200*, and not less than the square of the screen height of 1800* (the screen height is first converted into the international standard unit: meter).

LCD TV selection should also pay attention to the uniformity of brightness

The uniformity of brightness is also very important, but it is usually not marked in the LCD TV product specification. Whether the brightness is uniform or not, and the number and configuration of the backlight and the mirror are closely related. The TV with better quality has uniform brightness and no obvious dark area. Uneven brightness will seriously affect the appreciation of the picture. The method of determining the uniform brightness is usually only careful observation, especially when the screen is in a single color. The LCD TV may ask the receiver to adjust the screen to a single color to distinguish.
