China Unicom's 4G construction moved to the underground new type of manhole base station into pilot deployment

Following Yueyang Mobile and Ericsson piloting a new type of manhole base station, Shanxi Unicom also joined Ericsson to pilot the deployment of the manhole base station in the post and telecommunications school.

It is understood that the Shanxi Post and Telecommunications School has three L1800 base stations covering the entire campus. Despite the large number of sites, there are still some weak coverage and high interference areas in the two buildings in the southwest corner of the campus. In the end, China Unicom Taiyuan Branch decided to jointly deploy Ericsson's first UL2100 mixed-mode manhole cover station in China Unicom to solve the problem of weak coverage between buildings. On the other hand, it can use the characteristics of small interference in 2100 band to provide better users. Internet experience.

On the morning of December 7, the field testers were optimized to start on-site testing, and the background analysts began to develop parameter plans for different manufacturers.

The on-site user measured the RSRP of the well cover at -53dBm, the speed reached 118Mbps, and after several tests, the peak rate reached 142Mbps.

Then the on-site personnel conducted CQT tests on the rooms in the two buildings. The actual test proves that when the terminal resides in the L1800 network, the downlink rate is about 40Mbps due to poor SINR; while when camping on the L2100 network of the manhole station, Up to 60Mbps, to achieve the intended purpose.

For comparison, the previous China Mobile Manhole Cover Base has an effective coverage radius of 150m, the field test download peak is 110.5Mbps, and the upload peak value is 10.3Mbps, which is equivalent to the macro station in terms of rate performance.
