RayVio expands capacity to meet deep UV LED market demand

RayVio, a global leader in R&D and commercialization solutions for deep-UV LED devices, announced that it is expanding its global sales capabilities and LED capacity to meet growing customer demand. The capacity expansion is carried out on the original site and is expected to be completed before the end of the year.

RayVio's headquarters in Silicon Valley, California, currently has the capabilities for epitaxial growth, chip manufacturing, packaging and test development, and sample production. Through this increased production and test equipment for capacity expansion, RayVio will accelerate the development process and produce more than 2 million products per year. Combined with its manufacturing strategy, RayVio can meet the rapidly growing global demand for deep UV LEDs.

From a wide range of global application markets, from water purification equipment to personal medical devices, the demand for UV LED devices is being driven by many industrial and consumer applications. We have achieved 45mW optical power from a single chip, as well as multi-chip packaging technology that provides higher optical power. RayVio's complete product line can meet the needs of different applications from different customers.

Dr. Doug Collins, RayVio's Vice President of Engineering and Operations, stated: "Our proven technology platform is producing the best performing products in the industry. At the same time, we also reduce the cost of the products according to the roadmap. These will guarantee our Downstream partners can launch their products as soon as possible."

Prior to RayBio's performance gains and cost reductions, UV LED solutions have been limited to so-called niche applications. But with the emergence of high-output optical power UV LED products and solutions offered by competitive system costs, the entire UV LED application industry is growing at a visible rate.

"RayVio's high-performance, low-cost UVLED solutions have accelerated the adoption of UV LEDs in the industrial and consumer industries," said Dr. Robert C. Walker, co-founder and CEO of RayVio. "With the fundraising earlier this year." We now have sufficient funds to accelerate product development and mass production. This expansion plan will help us ensure our leading position in the industry."

After completing the $9.3 million Series B round of financing in early 2015, Ray Vio began to accelerate the adoption of UV LEDs in the industrial and consumer industries. We are currently working closely with leading manufacturers in the UV curing, medical device, air/water/surface disinfection industries to deliver samples and quickly develop their innovative solutions.
