In 2014, CLP Yuanda Environmental Protection Engineering Co., Ltd. Nie Hua, deputy general manager of Yuanda Environmental Technology Chongqing Branch, was inspired by the news of a housing shift and proposed a “anti-day” solution. First, build a 16-meter-diameter absorption tower outside the site. After the boiler is shut down, the original absorption tower is removed and the foundation is reinforced, and the new absorption tower is translated to the old tower foundation for fixing. The proposal was quickly successful, not only reduced the construction cost of the technical transformation project by more than 20 million yuan, but also saved more than 20 million yuan in operating expenses.

Developed electrostatic dust removal technology to reduce PM2.5 by 80%

In 2012, Yuanda Environmental Protection undertook an ultra-low emission project of the Weihe Power Plant, and the owner requested the use of wet electrostatic precipitator technology. To this end, Yuanda Environmental has negotiated with a well-known US environmental company. While expressing the willingness to cooperate, foreign companies have also proposed a technology transfer fee of $80/kW. At that time, the construction budget for the entire ultra-low emission project of the Weihe Power Plant was only 100 yuan/kW.

"The sky price can't buy back the core technology, it will only go further and further on the road of research and development." Nie Hua said that he led the team in 2012 to start the research of this technology. After thousands of experiments, they finally developed a honeycomb tube type wet electrostatic precipitator technology with independent intellectual property rights, which filled the gap in the relevant domestic technical level.

The technology achieves the "ultra-clean" emission standard, and the dust of the control device can be stabilized below 5mg/Nm3. The removal efficiency of PM2.5 can reach more than 80%, and the SO3 and Hg have good removal effects. In 2015, the Chongqing Science and Technology Commission's appraisal expert team unanimously assessed: the technology is innovative and practical, and the overall level has reached the domestic leading level.

The ultra-low emission technology of coal-fired flue gas pollutants has been highly praised by academicians.

Nie Hua's contribution in the field of environmentally friendly atmospheric management is not only a honeycomb tube type wet electric dust removal technology.

In 2011, in response to the increasingly severe domestic smog situation, the National Energy Administration identified 12 ultra-low emission demonstration projects with coal-fired power plants as the entry point, and Yuanda Environmental Protection accepted two of them.

This is a very risky challenge. Nie Hua has integrated almost all of Yuanda's R&D technical strength to form a technical team. After nearly three years of research, they finally developed ultra-low emission technologies for coal-fired flue gas pollutants, achieving ultra-low emission targets with SO2 emissions of less than 35 mg/Nm3, NX emissions of less than 35 m/Nm3, and soot emissions of less than 5 mg/Nm3. The academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the professor of Chongqing University, Xue Xuefu, believe that the “integrated technology of boiling coal foam desulfurization and dust removal for coal-fired units” has reached the international advanced level.

According to statistics, Nie Hua supports the completion of the application of technology to create more than 6 billion yuan of benefits for enterprises, reducing emissions of about 22,500 tons of sulfur dioxide, 22,500 tons of nitrogen oxides and 75,000 tons of dust per year. In this regard, he said modestly: "The engineer's dream is to achieve more technological breakthroughs in the unknown.
