Shanghai-based Osram recently announced that Gunnar Eberhardt has been appointed as the President and CEO of OSRAM China. This appointment will officially begin on August 1, 2017. With over 15 years of experience in specialty lighting, Gunnar Eberhardt brings extensive expertise to his new role, where he will oversee the company’s overall management, operational efficiency, and strategic growth initiatives within the Chinese market.
In a recent statement, Gunnar Eberhardt expressed his excitement about joining OSRAM China. “China is one of the most dynamic markets in the lighting industry, and I’m eager to help shape and execute our strategies to propel us into a new era,†he said. “Our team has already established a solid foundation, and my goal is to build on that success by capitalizing on future opportunities and delivering even greater value to both the market and our customers.â€
Before taking up his new position, Gunnar Eberhardt served as the CEO of OSRAM Specialty Lighting across the Asia-Pacific region. In this capacity, he successfully led numerous projects and expanded the company's footprint in key markets. Prior to that, he held the role of Senior Director and Regional Head for the Specialty Lighting Division, where he was responsible for managing operations across Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa. Joining Osram back in 2002, Gunnar has steadily climbed the ranks through various leadership roles in business development and marketing.
Gunnar Eberhardt holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Technology & Business in Kempten, Germany, and another Master’s degree in Innovative Technology and Management from the University of Vorarlberg. His diverse background and deep understanding of global markets make him an ideal candidate to guide OSRAM China towards its next phase of growth.
