Toys for young children—Tencent Tencent Treasure W001 Smart Ball Robot Unpacking

Last weekend, my son had his birthday, and a friend sent me a package thinking it was a gift for her own son. She didn’t tell me what was inside, so I didn’t ask when I received it. On the day of the birthday, I handed the delivery over to my son, and he started opening it. He was quite mature and didn’t rush to take it apart right away. Instead, he thanked my friend through my phone for sending the gift. Inside the box, it turned out to be the same toy. The outer packaging was labeled by Tencent and marked with the words “Micro Treasure.” I’ve developed a habit now: whenever I get something unfamiliar, I open the SMZDM app and search for keywords. If there are original products, I click on them to read more. I think this method is really helpful, but this time I felt a bit disappointed. Still, it gave me the motivation to write a detailed review. I couldn’t find the product link on JD.com, and Tmall didn’t have much information either. My son couldn’t wait to open it and play, so I just followed along. The box wasn’t too big, more like a cube, and it was light enough to carry with one hand, making it perfect for kids. While opening the gift, they also downloaded the app. The box was split into top and bottom sections. Inside, the top part had a protective cover and instructions. After removing the paper case, there was a small bag and a Micro-USB cable. There was a plastic cover that needed to be opened. Once removed, the main body of the Micro Treasure (a small ball) was in the center of the box. To protect it during transport, it was wrapped in a bubble bag. He couldn’t wait to take it out. The main body of the treasure is smooth and made of plastic. When shaken, you can feel a counterweight moving inside. It uses wireless charging, so there’s a charging base. The back of the base has four rubber feet to prevent sliding. There’s also branding, model number, and safety certification information on the back. On the base, there's a button to switch modes and a USB port, but no separate charger. The base is plugged in, and the Micro Treasure sits on it to charge. It lights up blue while charging, and turns solid blue when fully charged. To turn it on or wake it up, you place it on the base. Remember the box? You can flip it over, and it becomes a track with 4 difficulty levels. Each level is marked with a rating—higher means harder. You need to control the Micro Treasure to roll from the channel to the center point, either through the app (remote control or gravity mode). Honestly, even Level 1 was tough for me. It requires maintaining a straight path and accelerating to make it through. After use, there’s a magnet around the box to return it to its original packaging. Since my son didn’t play for too long, I didn’t get a “family blessing” moment. Before starting the game, you need to pair it via Bluetooth. Just turn on Bluetooth on your phone or iPad, tap the pairing button, and bring the device close to the Micro Treasure. One of the games lets you change the color of the sphere using the app, similar to smart bulbs. This might be better for younger kids who are learning colors. You can also calibrate the Micro Treasure. There are several games, but some videos failed to upload. Let me describe a few. 1. **Control Game**: Use the app to move the Micro Treasure. 2. **Mission Mode**: Uses AR through your phone or iPad camera. You see virtual monsters on the screen and must hit them with the Micro Treasure to complete tasks. This is more engaging than simple control. 3. **Multiplayer Mode**: Multiple players can compete. 4. **Color Guessing Game**: A color appears on the screen, and you shake the device when it matches. 5. **Crazy Color Grab, Zombie Battle, and Cool Pet Games**: My son found these boring, so he didn’t play them. The device itself has strong vibration. If you can’t find it, the search mode will vibrate continuously to help locate it. When my son held it, the vibration would even make his arm shake. In summary, after a two-day experience, my son gave feedback that was a bit childish. It might not appeal to kids in fifth grade or older. So, this toy is better suited for younger children. It helps develop their color recognition and motor skills by controlling the Micro Treasure.
