According to the latest information released by Chongqing Green Technology Development Group Co., Ltd., to enhance the safety of highway tunnels, 704 Internet-connected multi-color temperature anti-fog LED lights have been installed in five tunnels across Longjiawan, Huangshaxi, Yuanjiagang, Eile, and Chenjiaping. These intelligent street lights address the issue of poor lighting inside summer tunnels.
Smart Functionality: Automatic Dimming During Adverse Weather Conditions
"The Internet-connected multi-color temperature anti-fog LED fully intelligent street lights installed during construction possess several unique features," said Su Chengyong, legal representative of Chongqing Green Technology Development (Group) Co., Ltd. In harsh weather conditions like rain, fog, hail, snow, and sandstorms, or when PM2.5 levels are high, sensors measuring temperature, humidity, and rainfall adjust the LED street lights to emit yellow light (with a color temperature of 3000K). This takes advantage of the excellent diffraction properties, high scattering intensity, and radiation wavelengths to enhance the penetration of light, thereby improving driving safety. Additionally, these multi-color temperature LED street lights outperform national standards for road surface brightness uniformity, illuminance uniformity, and energy-saving rates compared to traditional LED street lamps. A multi-color temperature LED street light can serve as a standard monochrome LED street light while offering double the lifespan and greater cost-effectiveness.
Moreover, the multi-color temperature anti-fog LED fully intelligent street lights can intelligently adjust tunnel illumination based on day and night changes, enabling a "secondary energy-saving" mode for tunnels at night. This feature effectively addresses issues related to dark areas caused by closed-loop or intermittent lighting, reducing potential traffic safety hazards.
Energy Efficiency: Energy Savings Reach 70.14%
"These tunnels have been using high-pressure sodium lamps since they were completed, which suffer from dim lighting, low color rendering indices, and poor uniformity. Particularly in spring and summer, the yellow lighting is inadequate," explained Su Chengyong. The upgraded lighting system automatically adjusts the color temperature of the light to the most comfortable values depending on seasonal and environmental changes, transitioning from warm white light (around 3500K) to cool white light (up to 5500K). This improves urban street lighting comfort and resolves issues related to tunnel entrances and exits.
In 2013, the product underwent testing and demonstrations at Yuanjiagang Lawn Tunnel, Eile Ridge Tunnel, and Chenjiaping Tunnel in Jiulongpo District. The city's lighting administration conducted on-site engineering trials, revealing that the energy savings achieved compared to the replacement of high-pressure sodium lamps reached an impressive 70.14%.
