Export certification and use tips for Christmas decoration lamps

As we all know, Christmas is as important to the Western countries as the Chinese New Year. Whenever Christmas approaches, Western countries are accustomed to dressing up and down at home to meet this major holiday. Among them, decorative lamps are the most festive atmosphere, and one of the must-have items that every family will purchase.

After seeing this market opportunity, many domestic lighting manufacturers have also invested in the production and manufacture of Christmas decorative lighting, flooding into this already huge market.

However, due to the safety hazards such as fires and electric shocks in the lamps, Western countries have strict requirements on the quality and safety of decorative lamps. When consumers purchase, they will also choose those products that have passed the testing and certification of third-party organizations, such as CSA Group, and have the authority certification mark, to use with confidence.

Certification requirements for decorative lighting

Decorative lighting for festivals can be divided into two categories, decorative light strings and decorative modeling lights. The decorative light string mainly includes indoor tungsten filament string, outdoor tungsten filament string, indoor LED string, and outdoor LED string. Decorative styling lights include interior modeling lights and outdoor modeling lights.

For both types of products, the certification requirements are different. In general, decorative light strings can be certified with a flower shell, while decorative style light products generally require an assembly with a certified light string for application. Compared with indoor products, in the test and certification, the certification body will pay more attention to the outdoor decorative lighting for anti-freeze impact, waterproof and leakage, in order to prevent personal safety threats to users.

In the North American market, there are two main certification standards for Christmas luminaires, one for CSA C22.2 No. 37 for the Canadian market, the General Requirements for Christmas Tree and Other Lighting Components, and the other for ANSI/UL 588 for the US market. "Safety Standards for Seasonal and Holiday Decorations", and these two standards have different product structure requirements, mainly in the light string structure, plastic materials and wires, as shown in the following table:
