The light transmittance is as high as 90% or more, and the goal is to use it as a substitute for a glass substrate and a substrate for a flexible display in the field of display.

PEN (polyethylene naphthalate) resin, which is widely used as a heat-resistant transparent resin, has a heat distortion temperature of 230 ° C, and this product not only has better heat resistance, but also acid, alkali and organic The chemical resistance of solvents and the like is also excellent. Therefore, in the conventional display manufacturing process, it is used as a substitute for the glass substrate, and the weight of the display can be reduced and the safety can be improved. In addition, the surface hardness is also as high as 3H or more. A sample sheet of 230 mm × 230 mm × 1 mm thick will be supplied from November 2007.
The heat-resistant transparent resin film using the same material had a thickness of 100 μm and a coefficient of linear expansion of only 20 ppm/°C. The heat resistant temperature is 200 ° C, and an ITO transparent electrode can be formed. It can be used as a substrate for flexible electronic paper and organic EL panels. The monomer is gas barrier (Gas Barrier), but in the future it is planned to supply products with gas barrier properties. The film is scheduled to start supplying samples in 2008.
The company will display 500mm × 500mm sheets and 300mm wide films at INCHEM TOKYO 2007 "ADvanced MATerials Show" held at the Tokyo International Convention and Exhibition Center from November 6th to 9th.
