The outlook for smart bracelets is worrying or will be gradually replaced by watches

Recently, Gartner's recent report shows that after 2015, the sales of smart bracelets will be lower than that of smart watches, and the shipments of the two will be in a long-term trend. In 2011, Jawbone Up launched the smart bracelet to open the wearable device market. According to Gartner, shipments of smart bracelets and watches in 2013 were 30 million and 14 million, respectively. The gap between the two in 2014 will be further reduced to 20 million and 18 million. Until 2015, the situation will be reversed, and smart bracelet shipments will shrink to 17 million, which is lower than the 21 million smart watches. Gartner analyst Angela McIntyre said: "Half of the people who bought the bracelet this year will replace it with a watch next year." Perhaps the Apple Watch is driving this trend. CNET believes that Apple Watch, which will be listed next year, will be the market leader, and it will effectively hit competitors such as Samsung, Google, Motorola and LG. Angela McIntyre is also very optimistic that Apple Watch will have the potential to account for half of smartwatch shipments next year.

The main difference between a bracelet and a watch is the screen. The screen on the watch is shouldered with the function of displaying time, reminder notification, and communication. From the functional positioning, the smart watch is not a "substitute" to the smart phone, nor is it "the thing done on the big screen is transferred to the small screen."
