Apple will provide free iPad to impoverished students

According to foreign media The Verge, Earlier this year, Apple had promised to spend 100 million US dollars to support President Barack Obama's ConnectED project. Recently, the latest developments in this project have been disclosed.

It is reported that Apple will distribute one iPad to each of the students of 114 schools in 29 states in the United States, and each teacher of these schools will be issued an iPad and a Mac computer. In addition, Apple will deploy Apple TV set-top boxes among school teachers.

Apple stated that “Some students lack equal access to science, technology and knowledge, making them vulnerable. This is particularly evident in ethnic minorities. We hope to change this situation through our own efforts.” It is understood that Apple A dedicated education team will also be assigned to help these schools make better use of the company’s new equipment.

In Apple-assisted schools, 92% of the students are Hispanics, Blacks, Indians, Alaska Natives, or Asians. In addition to Apple, Adobe, Microsoft, Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and other companies are also supporters of the Obama ConnectED project.
